Lines makes it three out of three at Whilton Mill

Reigning British Open Plate Champion Finlay Lines took his third win of the year in the 2024 Whilton Mill Kart Club Championship last weekend.

Setting the fastest time in qualifying on the Synergy Envy chassis, Lines would start from the front row in both heats on Sunday, against 30 other drivers in the Rotax Mini (Inter) class.

Despite starting from pole in heat one, Lines went wide in the opening corners, falling to third place. Fighting back to second by the end of lap one, Lines took the lead on lap three.

The top three contested the lead throughout the rest of the race with the Maximum Motorsport driver breaking away on the penultimate lap to go on and claim the win.

Following a brief but heavy downpour before heat two, track conditions were very slippery. Lines made a good start and stayed ahead of the chaos behind as drivers were caught out by the conditions. Mastering the drying track conditions, Lines claimed his second heat win of the day.

Starting from pole position in the Final, Lines took the lead at the opening corner. Despite pressure from Max Wheatley during the race, the Synergy Kart driver went on to take his third final win of the season, setting the fastest lap of the day in the process.

To date, Lines has been dominant in the championship so far, having taken victory in every heat race and final. Lines hopes that this great form will continue for the rest of the season.
