Lines takes victory in Trent Valley Kart Club Championship second round
Staffordshire-based driver Finlay Lines took victory in the second round of the 2024 Trent Valley Kart Club Championship last weekend, competing in the IAME Waterswift class.
Up against 20 other drivers in the class, the Synergy Kart driver was able to take on a lot of valuable knowledge, setting the second-fastest time in Qualifying on Saturday at the Lincolnshire circuit.
Starting from the front row in both of the two heats that took place on Sunday, Lines finished in fifth place in heat one, before going on to finish in sixth place in heat two.
The total points scored by the Maximum Motorsport driver during the two heat races meant he was placed in fifth position in the Intermediate Classification. This is used to set the grid for the Final, meaning that Lines would line up in fifth place on the grid.
Keeping a calm head on track at the start, Lines moved up from fifth place on the grid to finish in fourth place on track by the end of the race. However, penalties applied to drivers who finished ahead meant Lines was classified with the win in the final results.
The Synergy Direct driver sends his thanks to both Alfie Cockerell, Mike Spencer and the Synergy team for their hard work throughout the weekend.
With valuable knowledge gained last weekend, a win is a win and we’ll take that as a good learning experience.
Lines will be back in the opening two rounds of the 2024 British Kart Championships – IAME class at PF International next weekend.
