Lines left wanting more after opening round of British Kart Championship Rotax campaign

Finlay Lines kicked off his British Kart Championship campaign in the Rotax category with a weekend that showed clear promise but ultimately left the team wanting more.

The opening heat saw Finlay deliver a strong and composed drive, crossing the line in 5th place and immediately demonstrating competitive pace against a stacked field. Heat 2 proved more challenging, with a tougher race resulting in a 12th-place finish, but valuable lessons were taken as the team continued to refine the setup.

In the Super Heat, Finlay bounced back impressively, fighting his way to another 5th-place finish. His performance underlined the speed he and the team had found, putting them in a solid position heading into the all-important Final.

Unfortunately, the Final result didn’t reflect the pace shown throughout the weekend. After crossing the line in P5, a penalty beyond Finlay’s control before the race had event started,   dropped him down to 19th place, a frustrating outcome for all involved.

Despite the setback, there are plenty of positives to take away. Finlay showed strong racecraft and competitive speed throughout the event, proving he has what it takes to challenge at the front this season.

With Round 1 complete, Finlay currently sits 10th in the championship standings and is already looking ahead with determination to the next round, where he’ll aim to convert that evident pace into the results it deserves.
