Finlay Lines hard fought podium in 2023 FASTR WMKC Round One

Finlay enjoyed an exciting start in the opening round of the 2023 FastR WKMC championship at Whilton Mill Kart Club last weekend.

Finlay set the second-fastest time in Qualifying to put him on the front row for heat one on Saturday.

Keeping pace with his Dan Holland Racing team-mate Jacob Ashcroft, Finlay finished in second place, giving the team a one-two finish.

On Sunday, Finlay started heat two from second place once more, however, he was soon involved in a race-long duel with Charlie Woolfitt.

On the final lap, Woolfitt made the pass for second place at “The Boot” corner, with Finlay taking third right behind him.
The Maximum Motorsport driver lined up on the front row for the Final, with team-mate Ashcroft in pole position.

Losing six places on the opening lap, Finlay set after trying to catch race leader Ashcroft.

After three laps of hard work, during which he set the fastest race lap twice, Finlay made his way back up to second position.

Finlay lost the place briefly on the penultimate lap as Charlie Woolfitt went past, however, Finlay retook second place almost immediately on the Kenney Straight.

Woolfitt attacked once more, this time on the final lap, contacting the back of Finlay’s kart and going through into second position at the final corner.

Woolfitt was later penalised for the move and Finlay claimed second place overall in the Final.

Finlay sends his thanks to his mechanic Jamie Dzyra and Dan Holland Racing for all their hard work and support over the weekend.
