Finlay takes hard fought top five result at the first WMKC round of 2022

Maximum Motorsport talent Finlay Lines showed that his top-five finish in the opening round of the SKRC was no flash in the pan by following this up with a top-five finish in the opening round of the Whilton Mill Karting Club last weekend.

The Synergy Racing Developments driver was up against forty other drivers in the field at what turned out to be a cold and misty weekend at the Northamptonshire circuit.

Finlay showed his growing confidence in the series as during heat one on Saturday he started in 28th position and crossed the line in twelfth place, wasting no time at all as he made up sixteen positions.

Heats two and three took place on Sunday with Finlay losing one place off the line in heat two to finish in third place whilst in heat three, despite being drawn in seventeenth place on the grid, the factory Honda driver took eighth place at the flag.

All of his hard work during the three heats rewarded the Maximum Motorsport ace with seventh place on the grid for the Honda Cadet A Final where he battled race long with Noah Barnham and Max Cuthbert.

Lines made his way past both Barnham and Cuthbert to run in fourth place early on, however, despite his hard-fought efforts, he would go on to cross the line in fifth position as both drivers got back past in the late stages of the race.
