Finlay Lines claims victory in opening round of 2024 Shenington Kart Racing Club Winter Championship
Lines continued his winning form in 2024, by taking victory in the opening round of the Shenington Kart Racing Club – Winter Championship.
The Synergy driver set the fastest time in Practice on Sunday morning, before starting heat one from pole position, against a combined grid of 22 drivers, from both the Rotax Inter and IAME Waterswift classes.
Competing for Rotax Inter honours, the Maximum Motorsport driver took the heat one win, setting the fastest lap of the session in the process.
In heat two, Lines started from 13th place on the grid and made his way forward, making up ten places to finish in third place.
Despite his progress being hampered by lapping a backmarker on the final lap, Lines set the fastest lap for the second session in a row, going faster than he did in heat one.
Starting the Final from pole position, Lines stayed out front and dominated the race, taking the race win by a margin of over seven seconds and setting the fastest lap of the weekend, with a time of 45.83 seconds.
Synergy team bosses Rob Hanscomb & Mike Spencer and everyone in the team provided Lines with another great chassis for this event. We send our sincere thanks to everyone for their hard work during the weekend.
Re-united with his mechanic Macaulay Austin, we thank him for all his support and encouragement working alongside Lines, as he took his second win of the year.
KR Engines was part of Lines’ winning combination at Shenington last weekend, and we are thankful to everyone involved.
A big thank you goes out to Neil Riddiford at IZone Driver Performance, for the time and hard work he puts in with Lines, in between events, as he makes further progress in this year’s karting campaign.
