Lines settles for fourth place in WM Plate Final

Finlay Lines took part in the WM Plate event, held at Whilton Mill Karting Club in Northamptonshire last weekend. However, he had to settle for fourth place after missing out on the podium on Sunday.

Going fastest in each of the four practice sessions on Saturday, the ZipKart driver set the third-fastest time in qualifying, against 32 other drivers competing in the event.

Heat one saw the Staffordshire-based driver take the lead early on, as both he and ZipKart team-mate Zac Starbuck put on a masterclass of close but fair racing.

Finlay claimed second place, beaten to the win by seven one-hundredths of a second behind Zac.

Heat two took a different turn as the rain arrived and following a chaotic start, Finlay started from twenty-seventh on the grid.

He went on to make up nineteen places, despite the difficult conditions and also getting a five-second penalty.

The Maximum Motorsport driver started the Final from fourth on the grid, with the track still very slippery.

Embroiled in a five-way fight for fourth place, Finlay finally managed to make a breakaway, however, the top three drivers were already out of reach, and he had to settle for fourth place.

Finlay sends his congratulations to ZipKart team-mate Zac Starbuck, who claimed the WM Plate win in the Final.

Finlay sends his thanks to his mechanic mechanic Macaulay Austin, for all his support and hard work over the weekend. Thanks also to the Zipkart Team, including team manager James Bean, Earl Panagi, Luke Hines and Conrad Racing.

Finlay also thanks Roger Pitchford and the team at RPM Racing Engines.
