Lines smashes IAME PFI lap record as weekend pace goes unrewarded

Lines showed race-leading pace in the opening two rounds of the 2024 Wera Tools British Kart Championships – IAME at PFI, however, he missed out on the podium with luck, not on his side.

The race weekend consisted of the first two rounds of the championships, with round one taking place on Saturday and round two taking place on Sunday.

Round 1
Lines took pole position in qualifying for the first round on Saturday.

In the first heat that Lines took part in, he went on to win the heat race.

In the second heat that Lines took part in that day, he was driven over by another competitor and on lap 6, Lines retired from the race.

Starting the final from 18th, the Synergy Kart showed his raw pace and battled throughout to ultimately finish in 4th place.

Round 2
On Sunday, Lines was pushed up onto the banking during the first lap of Qualifying and was therefore unable to complete the required number of laps.Whilst trying to get back on track, his competitors started playing games on track, which then caused a red flag.Drivers were spoken to; however, the session was allowed to continue, leaving the Maximum Motorsport driver a lap down and unable to complete his allotted laps allocation.

In his first heat of the day, Lines made up 13 places, whilst gaining 12 places in his second heat of the day, leaving the Synergy Direct driver to start the final in 13th position.

The Maximum Motorsport driver made his way up to 2nd place before finishing the 13-lap race in 5th place, smashing the existing lap record in the process.
