Lines claims win number three in Hunts Kart Racing Club campaign
Finlay Lines claimed his third win of the season on his return to the 2024 Hunts Kart Racing Club Championship at Kimbolton.
Random draws were used to set the grid for each of the three heats in the Mini Inter class, where Lines was up against 24 other drivers in the event.
Starting from twelfth on the grid in heat one, the Synergy Factory driver made progress up the order, after an early Battenburg (safety car) period following a first-turn incident. Lines’ hard work in the remaining laps was rewarded with a third place finish.
The second heat of the day saw Lines drawn in eighteenth place on the starting grid.
Despite a false start to the heat race, the reigning British O Plate champion made his way forward, making up thirteen places to claim fifth position at the end of the eleven-lap heat.
Starting from the second row in the third and final heat race of the day, Lines took the lead in the opening few corners. Setting the fastest lap of the day, Lines took the third heat race win in dominant style.
Using the points scored across all three heat races, the Synergy driver finished in second place in the Intermediate Classification, putting him on the front for the Final.
Staying in second place for the opening two laps of the final, Lines then made the move for the lead of the race at the first corner on lap three. Despite constant pressure during the race, Lines stayed out front to take his third victory of the season.
With six rounds complete, Lines sits in second place in the points standings, three points behind championship leader Oliver Spencer.
