Finlay’s promising Fusion Motorsport debut at Shenington SuperPrix
Finlay scored a top-ten finish in his debut, driving for Fusion Motorsport last weekend, taking part in the Shenington Super Prix in the IAME Waterswift class.
Settling in quickly during Friday practice at the circuit, Finlay was soon on the pace and would go on to set the 12th fastest time out of the 32 drivers competing in the “E” Plate event.
Starting from 12th place in heat one, the Maximum motorsport driver made up two places to finish the session in tenth place. Finlay repeated the same feat in the second heat, taking two top-ten finishes.
With his two heat finishes putting Finlay in 8th place for the Final, the Staffordshire-based driver was in the mix for a top-five finish as he fought with the lead pack early on.
However, rain arrived in the late stages of the race and despite his best efforts in the difficult conditions, Finlay finished the Final in 7th place on his debut for Fusion Motorsport.
Finlay is very grateful to the team for his good start with them and sends his thanks to Dan Hazelwood and Fusion Motorsport for their support across the weekend.
