Finlay Lines starts 2023 with a podium at Trent Valley Kart Club
Finlay Lines started his 2023 season off in style last weekend, by taking a podium finish in the Ice Breaker Cup at Trent Valley Kart Club.
Finlay made his debut for Dan Holland Racing, moving up to the Rotax Mini (Inter) class for the 2023 season.
Despite having been held up during the Qualifying session, Finlay qualified in 8th place out of a field of 34 drivers.
In Heat One, the Dan Holland Racing driver was quickly on the pace and made up four places during the session. Finlay finished in fourth place, as teammates Cole Denholm and Jacob Ashcroft took a one-two finish for the team.
Starting from eighth place on the grid for Heat Two, Finlay showed his pace was no fluke, this time making up five places during the session to finish third behind Denholm and Ashcroft.
With his Heat performances placing him in third in the Intermediate Classification, the Maximum Motorsport driver started from third place for the final race of the day.
Finlay continued his front-running pace he had shown during the weekend, as he stayed with the leaders during the race.
He went on to claim third place at the chequered flag and with it, also set the fastest race lap of the weekend with a time of 1min 02.45 secs.
Finlay would like to thank everyone at Dan Holland Racing for their support over the weekend, especially his mechanic Jamie Dzyra who will be working with Finlay throughout the season.
Finlay also sends additional thanks to Neil Riddiford from IZone Driver Performance for his continued mentoring and support.
