Finlay Lines secures pole position and strong final result despite weekend battles
Finlay Lines delivered an impressive performance over the weekend, showcasing front-running pace and resilience despite a number of on-track challenges that ultimately affected his overall result.
From the outset, Finlay demonstrated his speed in qualifying, producing a strong and well-executed session to secure pole position. A fastest lap late in qualifying underlined both his confidence and outright pace, setting a positive tone for the races ahead.
The opening heat proved more challenging, with Finlay crossing the line in 5th place after battling through the pack. Undeterred, he bounced back strongly in Heat 2, delivering a composed and competitive drive to claim 3rd place, once again showing the speed that had put him on pole earlier in the weekend.
In the Final, Finlay continued to push at the sharp end of the field. Despite experiencing contact at various points throughout the weekend that cost him several positions overall, he maintained his focus and race craft to bring the kart home in a solid 3rd place, securing a well-earned podium finish.
While the incidents inevitably influenced the final outcome, the weekend remained a positive one for Finlay. His consistent pace, strong qualifying performance and ability to recover through the races highlighted both his speed and determination against tough competition.
Finlay and the team will take plenty of confidence from the performance, with valuable lessons learned and encouraging signs as the season continues.
A big thank you goes to Mick Barrett Racing for their hard work, support and commitment throughout the weekend, playing a key role in Finlay’s strong showing on track.
