Pole Position and Strong Finishes for Lines in Kimbolton British Kart Championships thriller

Pole Position and Strong Finishes for Lines in Kimbolton British Kart Championships thriller

Finlay Lines secured pole position at Round 7 of the Wera Tools British Kart Championships IAME, competing as a Privateer entry.

Finlay enjoyed an extremely positive weekend, despite the contact in the Final, which ruined his hopes of taking a podium finish.

From the outset, Finlay showed front-running pace. In Saturday’s qualifying session, he timed his runs to perfection, finding clear track and extracting the most from his kart to secure Pole Position for the two heats.

The first heat proved to be a challenging drive, as Finlay was shuffled back in the opening laps, dropping him down the order, forcing a determined recovery drive.

Despite the setback, Finlay fought his way back into contention, making crucial overtakes to keep his weekend on track and finished in fourth position.

Lining up on pole for the second heat, Finlay made a clean start and quickly settled into a fast rhythm. He maintained a strong pace throughout the race, engaging in close battles before crossing the line in second place, scoring valuable points for the immediate classification.

A strong superheat meant that Finlay would be starting in second place on the grid for the final, and as the race started, Finlay was immediately in the thick of the action.

The race saw multiple position changes as he battled with the leaders, before he endured contact with one of his on-track rivals, which quickly dropped him down the order.

In the closing stages, Finlay regained many places to recover his strong weekend to finish in thirteenth place.

Not the result Finlay deserved, but we always learn lessons and will come back fighting for the remaining two rounds of the season.

Following the Kimbolton event, Finlay now sits eighth in the Junior X30 British Kart Championship standings. With two rounds remaining, the target is clear – keep building momentum and push for a top championship finish.

Finlay sends a huge thanks to his mechanic, Piers Sexton, for all his support during the event, his family, and all his supporters for their encouragement.

Congratulations to Jorge Edgar on taking the win in the Junior X30 final.
