Finlay Lines celebrated a major milestone in his young motorsport career over the weekend, securing his first-ever victory in a race car during the Ginetta Junior Winter Series at Snetterton.

Competing with Elite Motorsport, the teenager continued his transition from karting to car racing with an impressive performance across the four-race weekend, demonstrating strong pace and the ability to compete at the front of a highly competitive field.

Having made his Ginetta Junior Championship debut at Brands Hatch last month, Finlay arrived at Snetterton looking to build on his early experience and continue his development in the category.

The weekend got off to an encouraging start on Saturday, with Finlay qualifying second for the opening race. He converted that strong starting position into an excellent third-place finish, securing his first podium in car racing and immediately establishing himself among the front-runners.

The second race brought even greater success. With rain creating challenging conditions around the Snetterton circuit, Finlay delivered a confident performance to take the chequered flag in first place. He also recorded the fastest lap of the race, underlining the pace he possessed in the difficult conditions.

The victory marked a significant moment for Finlay, representing his first-ever race win in a car and a major step forward in his progression from karting into motorsport’s junior car racing ranks.

Sunday provided another opportunity to build on that momentum, with two further races completing the Winter Series programme. Finlay finished fifth in the opening race of the day after having to miss a spinning competitor on the last lap, whilst challenging for a podium.

The final race saw him cross the line in tenth position.  After making a move to take the race lead a small mistake saw him drop positions which brought an eventful weekend to a close.

While the result was not quite what he had hoped for, the experience gained across the four races added further valuable mileage to his developing car racing career.

Across the weekend, Finlay demonstrated encouraging consistency, racecraft and speed against an experienced field of Ginetta Junior competitors. His podium finish, maiden victory and fastest lap in the wet highlighted the progress he is making as he continues to adapt to the demands of car racing.

The Snetterton meeting represents another important step in Finlay’s development, with his first car racing victory providing a significant confidence boost as he continues to build experience and establish himself in the category.

Finlay Lines Racing would like to thank Elite Motorsport, all partners, sponsors, family and supporters for their continued support throughout Finlay’s racing journey.
