Finlay maintains his FastR WMKC championship lead at Whilton Mill
Finlay Lines put in another strong performance at Whilton Mill Kart Club last weekend to maintain his championship lead.
The Dan Holland Racing driver put himself on the front row of the grid for both of the heat races, against twenty-six other drivers competing across the event.
Despite dropping to third at the start of heat one, the Maximum Motorsport driver bided his time before moving into the lead with three minutes of the session left. Despite a late race challenge for the lead which briefly dropped him to second place, Finlay retook the lead to take the heat win.
Finlay took the lead on the opening lap in heat two, however, he dropped to second place as he was overtaken on the second lap. Keeping a consistent pace, Finlay finished in second place at the end of the heat.
Thanks to the points scored from both of the heats, The Maximum Motorsport driver started the Final from second place on the grid.
Finlay dropped to third place at the start of the Final, with contact from another driver behind him, not helping his cause. The Dan Holland Racing driver moved to second place on lap three and two laps later was into the lead of the race.
The Staffordshire driver lost the lead on lap six and despite several attempts to retake it, would settle for second place and extend his championship lead in the process.
Finlay is very grateful for the help and support he received over the weekend, sending his thanks to his mechanic Tony Dzyra & Dan Holland Racing for all their support.
Finlay also sends his thanks to Neil Riddiford at IZone Driver Performance for all of his mentoring with Finlay in between events.
