2020 Champion Stewart Lines Stays In Ginetta GT4 SuperCup
An experienced tin-top racer with 75 race starts in the British Touring Car Championship to his name, as well as spells in TCR UK and the VW Racing Cup, Lines made an exciting new step in his career last year as he entered one-make GT racing for the first time.
Despite it being his first season in rear-wheel drive competition, the Birmingham-based racer enjoyed a fantastic campaign. A total of 16 class podium finishes from 19 races, including a brilliant double victory on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit, secured him title glory.
Lines has a new home for the upcoming season, having joined forces with reigning Teams’ champions Rob Boston Racing, who have also won three of the last five Pro drivers’ titles. He’ll start testing with them next month ahead of the season opener in May.
Stewart Lines: “I’m excited to be returning to the Ginetta GT4 SuperCup grid this season. I wanted to try something new last year and the championship was a great fit for me. I really enjoyed the season and coming away with the Am class title was fantastic.
“I want to step up a level this time around and move my way up the grid. I’ve got a brand new car arriving soon and the best team on the grid behind me in Rob Boston Racing, so that takes away any other excuses I could have and puts the focus on my driving.
“Having some front-running drivers as team-mates should be a benefit too, so I’m determined to continue making improvements and be as competitive as possible this year. With some great sponsors supporting me, it’s set to be an enjoyable year of racing.”
The Ginetta GT4 SuperCup is Ginetta’s flagship championship. In 2021, the series will be contested over eight race weekends in support of the British Touring Car Championship.
