Finlay maintains 2023 FastR Whilton Mill Karting Championship with Podium Finish

Finlay made his return to the 2023 FastR Whilton Mill Karting Championship for round seven, held at Whilton Mill Kart Club in Northamptonshire.

Leading the points standings coming into the weekend, the Maximum Motorsport driver took third place in the Final on Sunday to consolidate his championship lead with two rounds left to go.

After finishing Qualifying in fourth place out of a field of 34 drivers, Finlay converted that into a third-place finish in Heat One. The Zipkart driver repeated the same feat in Heat two, claiming third place once again.

Starting from third place in the Final, Finlay was involved in the lead battle for the majority of the race, leading the race himself three times over the 15-lap encounter.

Falling back to fourth in the final stages, Finlay fought his way back on the final lap of the race to take third place and the final step on the podium.

Staying ahead in the championship thanks to his podium finish in the Final, Finlay sends his thanks to his mechanic for the weekend, Jemal Kordal.

He also passes on his thanks to Team Manager James Bean, Luke Hines and the ZipKart team for all their hard work over the weekend.

In between events, Finlay has been supported and coached by both Neil Riddiford and Marcus Littlewood, Motorsport UK’s driver of the year, at IZone Driver Performance. Finlay sends his thanks to them as well.
