Jack Depper fired up and ready for title challenge in VW Racing Cup
While 2021 marks the fourth season that Jack Depper’s name will appear on the Maximum Motorsport Volkswagen Racing Cup entry lists, the 21-year-old from Birmingham is intending to make this year count more than any other and aiming for nothing less than the championship title when the action kicks off at Silverstone on 25th April.
Having taken part in two rounds at the end of 2018, Jack embarked on his first full season of motorsport in 2019. Very much a case of ‘in at the deep end’ and therefore regarding it as a learning year, his pace increased event-by-event resulting in series of top-ten finishes.
With 2020 a year of uncertainty and only three VW Cup meetings taking place, Jack decided to enter the final round at Donington Park and having done so, went on to win all three races. With this impressive hattrick of victories under his belt, he heads into this season as a firm favourite for the title.
“My goal is to carry on from where I left off last year and with the experience of the past few seasons behind me, I’m confident I now know what I have to do to run at the front of the field”, Jack says.
“I’ve spent the winter driving the circuits on the computer and hope to get the chance to do some testing before the first round, so I’m as well prepared as I can be by the time we get to the first race. I must admit that I’m looking forward to this season more than any other and whatever happens, it’s definitely going to be a case of FULL SEND!”
Jack will continue to drive his E-Spares backed VW Scirocco, which is prepared and run by Maximum Motorsport.
