Docker takes Britcar Class 4 Championship with a close 2nd in the overall Championship.

The Britcar season ended on a high for the Maximum Motorsport team at Brands Hatch last weekend. The final round of the season featured the Britcar “into the night” races and Maximum brought along two cars. Season regular, Tim Docker in his Golf TCR car with Nick Halstead and Jamie Stanley in the Cupra TCR spec car.

Saturday’s qualifying session saw a double podium for the team with Halstead and Stanley in 2nd place ahead of Docker in 3rd.

Race 1 saw Docker take 2nd place in class with Halstead and Stanley’s Cupra retiring after a trip into the gravel on lap 40.

Race 2 was the two-hour long race and both cars had a great race, with Halstead and Stanley taking 2nd place with Docker just behind them in 3rd.

Docker said “We finished the Britcar season true to form with another two race finishes and two more class podiums; 2nd in Race 1 and 3rd in Race 2. What a great team I’ve been supported by during this campaign. The main stays have been Leon Pegg, Chris Caton and Tom Willis. We’ve finished all 14 races, securing 12 podiums including 2 class wins. We won the 2019 Class 4 Championship by over 130 points and took the overall Championship to the wire, eventually finishing a close second to the Ferrari 488 of Paul Bailey and Andy Schultz.

I’ve driven every minute of every race myself with no support from a second driver, pro or otherwise. It’s tough and I’ve enjoyed that aspect, as well as working with a great group of dedicated guys at Maximum with an absolute passion for motorsport, the team and success. Thanks also to Paul O’Neil, Nick Clipson and the guys at IZone for their invaluable training and technical advice.”
