Tim Docker has another great weekend in Britcar

Tim Docker was back out in his Golf last weekend at Donington and on form throughout the weekend.

It all went well for us at Britcar Donington last Saturday, 1st June; 1st in Class in Race 1, 2nd in Class in Race 2 and 8th overall in both, 55 points out of 60 available, leaving us with an extended lead in Class 4 and 2nd overall in the current standings at the half way stage, with 8 rounds of 16 now completed.

FP was sound (fastest in Class with a 1.12.19), followed by a 1.11.53 in qualifying which placed us 3rd in Class, less than a tenth off Max Coates in Class pole. I was able to take single driver advantage from a safety car in the early stages of Race 1 whilst a very late safety car closed the field up before two final racing laps with next to nothing separating 1st to 3rd In Class. Guy Colclough followed me over the line to secure 2nd place.

No safety cars in Race 2, just 60 minutes intensive racing. Max Coates was quick from the start and I could see him moving away as I got caught up in some traffic, fighting for class places with the Porsche Cayman of Price/Erceg and Aston of Compton McKinlay, successfully but with time costs. Paul Calledine took over from Graham Roberts in the Ginetta G50 for the second half of the race and developed some real pace to eventually take 1st in Class. Meanwhile I was closing on Guy Colclough who had taken over from Max Coates in the DAT Seat Leon TCR and despite solid defending I managed to pass exiting Coppice to take 2nd with a couple of laps to go.”

The next round of Britcar is on the 22nd June at Oulton Park.
